Riley Christopher has arrived! Welcome little man!

Eight days overdue - but what does that matter now - Riley Christopher was born yesterday, 22nd September 2007 at 11.13am after a fairly short, full labour. Angela and Travis are delighted to welcome their little boy into their family 'in the outside world'. He weighed 8lb 2oz (I'll post the metric later) and is 50.5cm long with a head circumference of 34.5cm. There, that's the details. And because of the timing, I can now enjoy the 2 full weeks of school holidays visiting, holding, helping, whatever is needed with Ange, Trav and the boys. Cool!
Jackson met his little brother yesterday afternoon and was all smiles. Sue, his other Nanna had already taught him to say 'Riley', and he is now beginning to associate that word with this real little person - his brother!
I have photos and video of Riley and his Mum and Dad and I will post them as soon as I can.
It was my wonderful privilege to be invited by Ange and Trav to be present at Riley's birth. To see this little man arrive was awesome. He joins our other beautiful grandchildren redy to receive lots of love. I praise God for his safe arrival.

Grace can crawl now! Wow! She's on the move alright. Makes me smile!

D-Day + 3, and Still Waiting

Still no sign of the little man. Angie seems happy to bo waiting - not that she has any choice. It's Nanna who is getting jittery. Oh well, I guess there'll be an announcement and pics here soon!

No New Grandson Yet!! D-Day + 1 and Counting

Well, there we have it! One day past due date for little ? Tatt. He's obviously decided he's comfortable where he is. I guess - no I know - he'll come when he's good and ready. But we're all anxious to meet him. Ange sent me a text yesterday to say she and Trav had decided to clean their carpets themselves. If that's not nesting syndrome then nothing is. Today she says that they only have the lounge room left to do. Also that she has been 'spring cleaning for a few weeks now. Maybe it's just Ange and not nesting syndrome. But Trav has gone to work with the mobile phone in his pocket - just in case. Oh well, our new little grandson will soon be here, ready to join his brother and cousins. Guess who's excited - ME!

Sick!

I've been home today. Feeling quite sick. The doctor said that I have bronchitis and she has given me antibiotics and 3 days away from work. I will miss the kids but it is better to get better. I have slept and now I am bored. So I've started a blog for my class and have linked it to this site. I want the kids to publish to it from next term. They have written some great poetry this term and we will present it (in big book form) to a Year 10 class next week. I want them to podcast their presentations. With parent permission, these can then be published on the blog I hope. I can then give parents access to the blog to see their children's work.

Happy Birthday to me!!!!

It's my actual birthday today. I'm sitting eating breakfast before heading off to school. I'm away from home - as usual during the week - but it's a bit lonely being by myself and away from family on this day. Things will get busy though. I wonder if my class will remember my 'big day'? I'm about to check out my profile. I bet my age has changed in that - 'Happy Birthday, Sandy,' says Blogger. I know my own kids, and Kelvin will remember and ring me:-) Happy birthday to me!!

My Birthday dinner!

My family took me out to dinner last night to celebrate my birthday and I want to say thanks for the digital photo frame that my kids and their families gave me!! I've been exploring it all day. Have bought a USB drive just to use for it (2gig - I'll need it). I can save some favourite photos (about 15 - depending on the size) occasionally to the frame and just 'slideshow' through those, or I can have all I want on the USB and 'slideshow' through those. It turns on and off automatically at preset times etc. It's not as easy to use as you would expect to learn to use, but I'm getting there. And I love just it. Thanks again Mark, Janette, Kylie, Brett, Angie and Trav!
We also celebrated Father's Day. The first for Mark, the second for Trav and the 35th for Kelvin. K loves his helicopter kids. He's been redecorating it all day with new decals and is charging the battery now. It's Brett's birthday on Wednesday - the day after mine, and Janette's and my brother's were last week - so we had three little cakes with a candle on each and we sang the traditional song to each other. It was a fun night!. The next celebration will be Trav's 30th in 2 weeks.
